Building Driver Diskettes
There are four methods of
building SDMS driver installation diskettes. The first three
methods use self-extracting image files to create these diskettes. Some
operating systems and/or web browsers may cause problems with the
self-extracting process. If you experience difficulty with a method, try
the subsequent methods.
Method 1
If you are using Microsoft
Internet Explorer, the tables below contain links to
self-extracting image files for the driver installation diskettes. Follow these steps to build
your diskettes:
Insert a blank 3.5-inch diskette into your A: drive and click on an operating system to build the corresponding
diskette.
The software is safe. If you are asked
whether you wish to download the file or run it from its current location, choose the
latter. If you get a security warning stating that the object is unknown to the trust
provider, simply click Yes to proceed with the installation.
If you choose to download the file, you will
need your A:drive to extract the image. Do not download to a diskette unless you have a second diskette drive in your system.

2
If you are not using Microsoft
Internet Explorer to view this page and are using a Windows-based
system, follow these steps:
Use Windows
Explorer or My Computer to go to the directory
below.
{CD-ROM Drive letter}:\DISKIMAG
Double click on the compressed executable image for your operating system to build the driver
installation diskette. The names of the self-extracting image files indicate the
appropriate operating system.

If you do not wish to use
Windows Explorer or My Computer, follow these steps:
Open a DOS window.
The directory below
contains the self-extracting image files.
{CD-ROM Drive letter}:\DISKIMAG
Either change to the
directory or copy the self-extracting image file for your operating system to a local drive.
Run the self-extracting
image file from a command line prompt in your DOS window.

Method 4
If your operating system does not support the use of
self-extracting image files, follow these steps:
You can make installation diskettes by copying the files from the
appropriate operating system subdirectory under:
{CD-ROM Drive letter}:\DRIVERS\8XX-1010
If you are using a UNIX-based
operating system, the subdirectory will be under:
{CD-ROM Mount Point}/drivers/8xx-1010/unixes
Consult the documentation in the appropriate directory
before proceeding.
