General Information

NI-IMAQ supports LabVIEW 7.1.1 and LabVIEW 8.2 and later.
NI-IMAQ supports Microsoft Windows Vista/XP/2000. Windows ME/98/NT 4.0 and earlier are not supported.
Always install NI-IMAQ before installing the image acquisition device if you are using Microsoft Windows 2000.

Known Issues

Cameras using an end extraction (2xxE) tap configuration with line widths that are not multiples of 8 may receive distorted images. End extraction tap configurations have more than 1 tap per line and the taps read out from the outside inward. This issue only affects cameras connected to an NI PCIe-1427, NI PCIe-1429, or NI PCIe-1430. Contact NI support to request an updated bitstream for this camera configuration.
When you upgrade from NI Vision Acquisition Software 8.0, .NET support and examples are not installed. To install .NET support, uninstall NI Vision Acquisition Software 8.0 and install a later version NI Vision Acquisition Software. If you already have a later version of NI Vision Acquisition Software installed, you must repair the installation to add .NET support and examples.
If you are using NI-IMAQ with Windows 2000, installing an image acquisition device prior to installing the NI-IMAQ driver software causes the image acquisition device to appear in the Device Manager as a PCI Multimedia Video Device. This situation prevents the driver software from working properly.
Complete the following steps to resolve this situation:
1. If you have not already installed the NI-IMAQ driver software, install it now.
2. Select System from the Windows Control Panel, select the Hardware tab, and click Device Manager.
3. In the Other Devices section of the Device Manager, right-click the PCI Multimedia Video Device and select Uninstall.
4. In the Device Manager, select Action»Scan for hardware changes. The system now recognizes the image acquisition device.
5. Restart the computer before using the image acquisition device.
