The Milky Way's Densest Star Cluster: The Arches Cluster

Text Box: 	Applications are invited for a Postdoctoral Fellowship in the Rochester Imaging Detector Laboratory (RIDL), within the Center for Imaging Science at the Rochester Institute of Technology. The RIDL was established last year to develop and advance new innovative detector technologies for astronomy and other fields. The lab pursues these goals by developing new cutting-edge detectors that utilize advanced CMOS readout circuitry (an activity sponsored by NASA). The RIDL is also a development lab for the Large Synoptic Survey Telescope (LSST) and Supernovae Acceleration Probe (SNAP); both of which are leading projects for exploring dark matter and dark energy in the Universe and are two of the most important astronomical missions planned for the coming decade.

	The RIDL Postdoc will participate in the development and testing of novel CMOS detector technologies for a broad range of applications. The initial appointment will be for two years with possible renewal for a third year. Applicants must have a PhD in electrical enegineering or related field.
